Henny Liwan, MD

Biography

Dr. Henny Liwan was born in Indonesia and graduated medical school from the Georg-August-University of Goettingen in Germany. After her residency training at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, MI, she completed a fellowship in Advanced Female Pelvic Surgery at Northwell Health in Long Island, NY. She is board-certified by American Boards of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Her devotion to the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology has resulted in years of specialized experience in female pelvic surgery, with interest in abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, fertility preservation, ovarian cysts and uterine leiomyoma.

On top of her special interests, she is highly experienced in other complex gynecological surgeries, including hysterectomy, myomectomy, hysteroscopic surgery, endometrial ablation, TVT midurethral slings for urinary incontinence, tubal ligations, pelvic organ prolapse repairs, and laparoscopic operations.

Dr. Liwan has practiced at Marshfield Medical Center, which is one of the largest healthcare networks in rural Wisconsin, as well as Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, and North Carolina Center for Reproductive Medicine in Cary, North Carolina.

She is thrilled to join the North Carolina OB/GYN and Midwifery team to continue providing quality care to patients. Dr. Liwan currently resides in Cary with her husband and two children, and enjoys baking, running, reading, and traveling.
